STREET COMIX

STREET ART & GRAFFITI photo blog****some photos by ewajaski (made with an iphone), some reblogs

Today I went back to Bagnolet, Paris eastern suburb. I was there last February during my exploration tour and this is how I found out about its graffiti festival, Kosmopolite. Last weekend Kosmopolite celebrated its 10th birthday. Wow, already 10 years, and I only know about it since February…As I went today to look at the new pieces, I couldn’t resist and turn my inner GPS on and it took me to this half demolished half in use huge building. I could hear people working in one part of it but I just jumped over the fence and went to check out the yard full of graffiti and as I was already there I went inside the to be demolished part. Its just a strange feeling to cross this borderline…between “civilization” and “no man’s land”…I read today a great interview with Sowat, the French graffiti writer who is at the origin of the Mausolee (Mausoleum) project, an illegal graffiti artists residence, and he talks about his feelings in a space like this. I will try to translate parts of it later beacuse its very interesting
